Perfect Eyebrow Shape For Different Face Shape

Let’s be real, eyebrows are one of the most aesthetically pleasing features on our faces. No matter who you are or how attractive you are, everyone would drop serious points if we didn’t have eyebrows. They aid in the framing of the eyes, shaping of the face, and play a powerful role in communication. Not everyone is born with perfectly-manicured brows, so to achieve an aesthetically-pleasing look, eyebrows should be routinely trimmed, shaped, and filled. But do you ever notice which shape of eyebrow suits on your face?  Eyebrows are best in shape when they are threaded by eyebrow threading professional at the salon. They actually know your face type & which shape will suit you.  Perfect eyebrows are the ones that go along your face which mean to understand the facial shape, tweezer or plucker usage is not viable as it plucks wrong hair, making the brows thinner.  So, let’s understand which will the perfect shape of eyebrow according to your face.

There are mainly 6 types of face human have. Which are – oval, square, round, heart, long, diamond.

Oval Shape Face

The oval face is considered ideal. You have very defined cheekbones and your forehead is wider than your chin. People with oval faces are lucky since it is easy to create many hairstyles and eyebrow shapes that work for them. When it comes to selecting an eyebrow shape for people with this face shape, the classic high arches and soft angled eyebrow shapes are the way to go. The soft angled shape is defined but kept rounded. They have angles which are not sharp but have soft curves. They can be made ultra-thin, thin, medium or thick. For day time looks you can go for thin and lower arches. For a dramatic look, you can go about with thick, high soft angled brow shapes. The soft angled shape makes the brow look delicate and soft. It is easy to create a soft angled eyebrow shape. The shape goes straight and then softly curves round at the top and down of the eyebrows.

Round Shape Face

If your temple region and chin area have almost the same width, you have a round face. This is also known as the baby face as this face type doesn’t age at all. The widest area of the face is near the cheeks. Since this face type needs definition, arched eyebrows do blend well with it. Therefore, here you want to create the illusion of a longer face, so go for high arches since they elongate the face and draw attention to your eyes. Vertical lines and angles are better than rounded eyebrows. To create these beautiful brows, follow a straight line until the peak of the eyebrow, than do a sharp angle diagonally vertical to create an elegant arch.

Heart-Shaped Faces

Heart shaped face can be particularly attractive. A heart-shaped face is a bit like an oval-shaped face. The only difference is that the chin region is sharper. Barbie dolls have this face type. It is best to avoid heavy shaping and instead go with a low and almost straight arch that hugs your brow bone. A slightly rounded arch is also a good choice as it helps to soften a pointed chin. Women with heart-shaped faces have a delicate jawline and so it is important to make sure that the eyebrows are not too thick or this will just draw more attention to the upper portion of the face. You can use a brow pen to create a more defined and smooth look. While bold brows may be in right now, you would do well to steer clear of the craze if you have a heart-shaped face.

Long Shape Face

If you have high cheekbones and jawline & face is about twice as long as wide then your face shape is long. Therefore it is important that you shape your eyebrows properly as flat and heavy brows will not compliment your face shape. You can opt for a high or a low arch as long as you extend the length of your eyebrows. Since your face shape accentuates your vertical features it is important to highlight your horizontal features such as your jawline as this will prevent a more “horsy” look! Do not extend your eyebrow tail downwards as this will make your eyes droopy. To show off your angular features, you can complement your look with retro curls or a side sweep to create a softer silhouette.

Square Shape Face

Think of what you know about diamonds. Sure, they're shiny and expensive, but they’re also known for their cut. The harsh edges and facets on your favorite jewels are exactly what makes them comparable to a diamond face shape. With a pointed chin and a narrow hairline, this face shape is marked by harsh features that can be softened with curves. Follow the natural curve of your brow bones to make wide cheekbones appear narrower.

Diamond Shape Face

Is your face look like diamond shape which means your face has a narrow forehead and chin that are about the same width? In this shape, the cheekbones are the widest points of the face.  A slightly curved brow with a longer tail at the end will give your face an utter confidence look and a poised personality.

Let’s Know The Shaping Process

Once you have determined the shape of your eyebrows and decided on a style based on your facial structure, it is time to pluck. Here are some tips on how to do that safely and without messing up:

  • Keep in mind that the front of your eyebrows should always match up with the location of your nostrils. This ensures you don't take too much away from the inner portions while plucking.
  • Start the eyebrow shaping process by determining the correct design for your face and features. You will need a thin eyeliner pencil to start. Fill the brow to the desired shape with a brow pencil before plucking. This ensures you have a clear guideline to follow and won't accidentally remove more hair.
  • It will be good if you keep the mirror at a good distance. You should be able to see the bigger picture and still see the hair. Getting too close to the mirror will give you a narrow perspective, which will increase the chances of over-plucking.
  • Brush the hair up and trim everything that goes above the brow line.

Now you have the perfect brow. If you have any sparse areas, fill them with brow pencil or pomade.
